Things I Love Today: Gene Kelly

What we need today – on this gray, rainy Monday – is some Gene Kelly in a suit…and roller skates…singing!…and tap dancing!…with french subtitles! Much better.

If French subtitles make you happy, try watching Les Demoiselles de Rochefort which is actually a French musical with Gene Kelly. He’s dubbed for parts of it and not for others from what I can tell. It has Catherine Deneuve and her sister Francoise Dorleac as the female leads. You’ll even catch George Chakiris (Bernardo from West Side Story) make a brief appearance.
